Project Info>

The Mesa Commons dining facility is part of the complex originally built in 1967. An expansion to the facility allows 1,700 students to enjoy new services and renovated dining rooms. The project includes an expansion to service spaces, dining rooms, freezers, coolers, office and storage spaces. Renovation of the kitchen, aesthetic enhancement of all three dining room interiors, ADA compliance of all spaces and seismic upgrades of the structure were client-driven prerequisites.

The Medical Center Lab and Auxilliary Services Facilities was a challenging project addressing the clinical requirements of as many as 70 part-time practicing faculty physicians with a wide variety of specialties. This facility organizes ancillary support modules around a central, north-facing glazed gallery. Each module includes a recessed reception area and waiting room. The gallery provides a planted gathering space, including trees and seating, with continuous balconies serving upper levels. The project received two AIA awards, an NAIOP award, a SARA award and publication in Architecture magazine.
